How and where do we get our lessons in this class?

Information will be emailed to you and also available in the online classroom. In the online classroom, you will get the readings, videos, audio interviews, and discussion questions that make up the bulk of the class. You will have a chance to access these materials at your leisure and answer the questions so the class can enjoy hearing diverse points of view on the materials presented.

Live seminars are held five times throughout the class. You will be able to dial in from your phone or your computer.

What kind of equipment do I need for this class?

A computer with access to the internet
A phone

No webcam is necessary.

What is the schedule for the class?

The online classroom and community opens to the class on the first day of class. You will receive an email when a new “step” appears in the classroom for you to do.

What is the class structure?

In this text-based classroom where we will have inputs (readings, videos, and audio interviews) and dialogue by written text several times per week. You'll receive an email each day that there are new activities for you in the classroom (usually 3x/week).

There will be 5 online/phone live seminars where we will have the opportunity for both small- and large-group dialogue and inputs. All calls are recorded, should you not be able to join us live, and the recordings posted in the classroom within 48 hours of the call.

We will interact in this classroom for one week BEFORE our first live call, and you'll get instructions on how to join the live seminars in the classroom a few days before the call (all you will need is a phone and/or a phone+computer - either set-up will work). No webcams are necessary. That is, there is NO LIVE SEMINAR in the first week of the class.

Online Classroom Help

If you want to change how often you are notified by the online classroom when something changes in it (you get a new assignment or someone comments on your thoughts, for example), you can change those settings by logging into the class and then clicking the settings gear in the top-right-hand corner to update your notifications.

How do I add my picture to my profile in Ruzuku?

  1. On the top right-hand corner of your screen, click on your name and then click "Profile"
  2. On the left, click "Photo" and you can upload your photo

I won't be able to attend the live sessions. Can I still participate?

Yes, definitely! The live seminars are recorded and will be available to you the next day. The other coursework is available to you as each step is published and you can always catch up if you miss a couple days.

What preparation do I need to do before the course begins?

There is no pre-work. Just be ready to jump into this classroom when the doors open. In our experience, keeping up with the class daily is most effective - we know with online courses it is tempting to "do it later," but the dialogue will be all the richer if we are progressing through the materials at essentially the same pace.

I was not able to keep up with the course workload. Can I still access it?

The classroom will be open for 3 months after the course ends. You will have access to everything until then.

I took the course before and would like to enroll again.

Great - there is a special discounted rate for Alumnus. Please use the coupon code ALUMNI2021 when you register.

A group of us would like to enroll.

There is a special discounted rate for groups of 10 or more. Please contact us at support@pattidigh.com to inquire.

I have impaired vision. Can I still participate in the class?

It is possible to participate fully in this class if you have a screen reader. The faculty inputs are all audio, and there are videos/audios in addition to the faculty interviews to augment the readings. There are readings in the classroom that are not available on Kindle so a screen reader would work best. Please contact us at support@pattidigh.com if you need more assistance.
